Need help with skimmer set up

When i first hooked it all up i had the skimmer bubbles going good right up into the cup and then i decided to mess with the controls.... now this is where i need help its a corallife super skimmer and i messed with the red knob that controls the air flow and no matter what i do i cant get it to where just the bubbles are spilling into the cup...... now i got bubbles and too much water coming up does anyone have this skimmer???? is there too much water in my tank??? something i need some help.............p.s. the tank is 50 gallons

I have coral life 120. I set it where the bubbles are about half way up , this will give you a good thick collection. Dont worry if the cup dont fill right away give it 24 hours it will.
