Posted in local subforum as well.

I am visiting in Herndon VA. for some business related training, and was wondering if you could recommend a reef related must see or two.

Currently staying at a hotel and will be flying out on Saturday morning the 19th.

There's the National Aquarium downtown: Aquarium (http://www.nationalaquarium.com/) .

If you want to drive up to Baltimore, there's a larger public aquarium (but Baltimore's a dump).

Doesn't the Smithsonian have some sort of reef aquarium exhibit?

They did have one in the Natural History museum years ago -- in was one of the first "reef-tanks" in this country, so they said. I don't think it's been there for several years.

Nope. And the American History museum is closed until 2008!

I used to live in Baltimore, and can tell you that the Aquarium in Baltimore is well worth the drive! Not to mention once you are done in there, you are right at the inner harbor....great for relaxing and having a beer or 2!

Thank you for your suggestions.
I think I will stop by Baltimore if time permits.

The American History museum is closed until next year. The Natural History museum is open.
