Hi and thanks in advance for the info.
What is the difference between these 2 dragon eels. It is not clear to me. Personalities coloration etc. Anything you can tell me

The coloration on the japp DME is much brighter then of the HWI eel that is the only difference i know of.

The LFS here had one of the Hawaiian eels..... $1,000 and it could be yours.... OUCH!

wow 1000$ isnt bad for a hawaiian there usualy 1200-1500

Same species, just some differences in coloration. The Japanese are said to be brighter in color than the Hawaiin's.

So.... If they are the same species I can assume they should have a similar personality (I understand that an individual will vary) . I guess I should just keep an eye out for either and see which ones colors I prefer. Sound like a plan?

yeah japanese DMEs have more orange and just look cooler. as far as i know they both retail for the same ridonkulously high price (i sitll want one though) so you might as well just spend it whenever you find a japanese DME, unless you dont mind the hawaiian's (which is still amazing, just not as much as the japanese)

an lfs had a hawaiian at 2000$ canadian.
