You'd be suprised how much it adds to the appearance of your corals and fish. IMO black is the best color to choose.

If you can only view through the front pane, would you paint the sides as well?

i only look through my front glass, and sometimes one side, so the side i cane see in through i painted black, glad i did, it looks great
i may paint the other side black, but since i can see into it through there, and its the only way to see behind my rocks, i probably wont

I painted mine black and love it. I have seen others in person that did not and I really don't care for the look.
Personal preference here of course.

Paint it light blue..
Interesting. Got a pic?
I didn't paint mine but wish I did. What kind of paint does everyone use? Is it possible to paint the tank set up already? If so I think that is going to be my weekend project.

Anybody have luck with using an algae magnet after painting the back of a tank?

I didnt paint the back of my glasss 110. Instead I bought a 1/8" thick piece of black plexiglass. The plex was sized to fit between the upper and lower tank frame. I then glued a couple of small pieces of plex to the top frame and the bottom frame of the tank. These "clips" allow me to slide the black plex onto the back of the tank and it can also be removed if required. Easy to do without tearing down a running tank.

mine is black. i rolled on acrylic while the tank was up. i dont have a problem using the mag floats on it. if there was a chip in the paint, or something, i can see that being a problem tho.

Thats interesting. I,ve always painted blue and now black seems to be the colour of choice. You guys are saying it looks better than blue? I may try it on my new cube.
