Has anyone used some of the aragocrete rock that they talk about on garf.org? I am beginning the planning for my 223 and was thinking about using some of the aragocrete for the base of the structure for some interesting caves and such. I am thinking that I would like to get a few choice pieces (or make them) and them let them get seeded (once curing is finished) with a few pieces of real LR in a trash can with water and power head in the basement for a couple months (or so). Any opinions on the matter? I am still planning on using at lease 50% real LR for the benefit of the extra organisms and such.

Yes, I use Man Made rock. I have my own special recipe that allows it to be far more biologically active, but to each his own. Here is what I use. Get ready to read. Over 2,250 replies in the thread alone. http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=807988&perpage=25&pagenumber=1

stuff works like a charm, an in time, you'll be unable to tell a difference between the manmade stuff and live stuff from the ocean, ti all seeds together eventaully. And coralline and other algae hide any imperfections well.

the live rock you will be adding will seed your concrete rocks with all the biological stuff you want; and as your tank matures, I am sure the coralline, and any other algaes will make the concrete rocks look just like the LR. =)
