Hi. So far I only have shrooms, zoas & GSP that came on my live rock, and they're multiplying and growing very well. I've read several posts on dipping new corals before introducing them into the tank. Can things like xenia also be dipped? Maybe a better question is: are there are any corals that should not be dipped?

Thanks,
Terry

I've dipped xenia in iodine dip. I dipped zoas and SPS so far as well to no ill effect. Actually have seen nasties come off of some and happy I've done so. I use different dosage and dipping time for different corals though. Some dips include FWE.

Which would you use the FWE with? Use RO or tank water? Seems like 10-15 minutes is what I've read. I have both Lugols and FWE for when the time comes that I need to dip.

Here is a good guideline.

My regimin is to acclimate to good water conditions in QT tank, Then with alot of pieces dose QT tank with interceptor or remove Corals and dip for 6hours. Then back to QT. Then I do a TMPCC dip about beer colored for 5~15 minutes depending on coral type. Then back to QT. Let set in QT 3 days and then repeat. Wait three days give a quick TMPCC dip rinse in fresh saltwater or main tank water (taken from tank) then place into main display.
