It's time to replace my year old 150w MH bulbs. I have been running 14k phoenix bulbs de. I found a great price on some 20k bulks and i just wonder how much more blue they are and how much par i will lose...worried about growth rates. Anyone using the 20ks???

I use 150W Coralife 20ks over the soft coral side of my tank and I love them. Everything seems perfectly happy and growing as well as they did with the 10ks but looks much better. The light is a very crisp blue/white. I'm considering swapping out the 14k on the SPS side with a 20K to see what happens.

I rather keep my 14k as I really like the colour. Not to blue and not to yellow. With the 20k you will see more blue in there.

I had some 150 watt 20k on my 40 gallon and it was to blue for me. It did not seem nearly as crisp as the 14k I have now. I would try to find someone in your area who has 20k and look at there tank. I wanted 10k but after i went to a friends house and looked at his I decided to got with the 14k. my .02

Every 20K bulb is colored different. Without brands its just about as uslefull as a tank build without pics.

IMO if you are going to go bluer than the Poenix 14k and dont want to loose much par look at the XM20k. Personally I would stick with the Poenix 14k's.

I really like my phoenix 14s too, ill spend the extra cash for them. It's not worth saving a few bucks and not being happy...thx all
