I am putting my 225gal up atm, currently redoing the basement. (You can see my build thread here ( http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=916778 ) I am trying to decide where to put the tank. Any input is appreciated.

FYI the tank is a peninsula style so i have a few options available.

1st

2nd (same as first just on opposite side)

3rd (this would leave me with less "width" in the tank room but more "length")

Thanks for the help!

Rick

It is always nice to see the two sides. Would you put a powerhead out on the end in your 3rd option?

Not sure what you mean, the tank is drilled for a closed loop and has two returns in the bottom pane at the opposite end of the over flow. The over flow is against the wall (obvious i know lol).

Take in consideration if you have any access to a window as it will help to keep your temp down or you can use an exaust fan that runs 24/7 for your humidity.

Yes, no matter what placement I go with a window will be in the tank room.

I like option #3 for the simple fact that it's viewable on all three sides. The first two options make less than half the viewing area available, which is a major downside IMO.

Looks nice!
