Apperently it can make you text message a forum.

A slightly elivated SG (1.026-1.027) is hard on fish but inverts tend to like it, it can also drive down calcium in the water and percipitate out other minerals which can be hard on corals. 1.028 on up and you will start having fish desease and less hardy corals and inverts will begin to die. Some tidepool animals can handle extremely high SGs. I had a clown goby survive 1.036 SG and 95F+ temps, my ricordea and trumpet corals didn't survive, nor did my tomato clowns and six line wrasse.

Does this have anything to do with Mantis Shrimp?
