Wow, that's cool. How long have you had the clowns in your tank? Are there any other fish in there? Did you do anything to help promote the spawning? I have had two sets of clowns in my tank for 4 years with no luck yet. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!

i have had them about 4 years.it is a 40 gallon tank and there is a juv. vladimingi tang in there temporarily.to promote spawing, constant parameters with very little variation from natural sea water helps.thanks for the comments and i will post pics of what they look like tonight.

Is this your first set of eggs?
yes that i have seen.although i have to admit i rarely look for them.there in a prop tank and i mostly study the growth on the frags.

Are you going to remove the eggs???
i did not decide what to do yet.i was hoping i could catch the tang without stressing the clowns.no luck at that last night

I'd be more worried about the Clowns..... Chances are they have had babies before but eat the eggs before they are seen.

If I were you I would get a small Nano set up and re-move that one rock with the eggs on it and put it in the Nano....Not to discourage you but most of them will die either way.

But they look awsome so good work so far...Keep up the good work!!

mine have eggs every few weeks, they turn brownish after a few days and then one day - just gone. Few weeks later, same story. Very sad!

Must be the season. My maroon clowns just spawned last week for the first time in 3 years. THe eggs hatched last night and I am making every effort to raise them. Mine laid the eggs on a piece of tonga that I could remove when I though they were going to hatch. I managed to move it a couple of hours before they hatched! I hope everything goes well with yours. Best of luck!

There is good information on the RC Clownfish and Anemone forum. Look under FAQ. Hope all goes well.
