I learned my lesson about hitchikers with part one and will flush the new rock (and probably the old) when it comes on Friday ... any other pointers y'all may have would be greatly appreciated ...:hmm5:

Yeah you can flush. We did and got alot of the hikers out of the second part. But your'e not going to get them all. I just found a huge frigging stone crab just chilling on a rock today as I was feeding my anemone and serpent stars. Don't get freaked out with high rising levels. Let them top out before doing your water changes otherwise youre going to prolong your cycle. Ummm don't feed until your cycle is over. other than that your'e going to be good. Also not everything is going to survive I had two of some sort of orangish red clams that perished. But the flame scallops are doing good.

Take your time flushing out critters. I thought I did a thorough job on part 2, got several gorillas out. But alas, a couple of gorillas and a huge mantis still made it in.

All seem to be cohabitating well.

Stone crabs are by far and away the most destructive of any of the 'pest' hitchikers IMO, and should be removed ASAP.

Hi there, voodude!

Keep us posted! I'm still cycling part 1, but am already addicted to this stuff! Don't think I've gone to sleep before 2-3 am since it arrived (and I have to get up at 6 am for work!). It's an all night treasure hunt!

I found an octo, too...how often do you see yours?

Best wishes to ya on part 2!

Don't see anything of the Octo as it is gone .. While it was in the rock, she just stayed holed up in a cave ... know it was a she as I had hundreds of eggs and babies one day ... with the other unwnteds, I got a Picasso Trigger and now down to just crabs and one stinkin mantis. Going to remove and fluch most of the rock in the tank when I get part two to try and get what I think is left. Glad to see I am not the only person that moved to 2nd/3rd shift!! .. Good luck with yours also and keep posting ... Bruce ..:spin1:

A Picasso Trigger (or any other of the aggressive triggers) may not be the best choice to keep with TBS rock and all the critters, as they will see snails, hermits, and much of the desirable life on the rocks as food. Also not a good idea to have fish during the initial cycle.
