Just recieved my gate valve assembly for my BM200 and I am at a loss. One end is a 1" X 1 1/4" reducer and the rest of the fittings and valve are 1". Niether the 1" nor the 1 1/4" fit any of the outlet fittings on my skimmer. What simple thing am I overlooking or not doing?

Obviously, you've already figured out that the 1.25" reducing elbow fits perfectly into the T-exhaust on the skimmer. There's several ways that you can install the gate valve kit:
1. as suggested with the gate valve coming off the reducer elbow and the 1" T fitting afterwards, swinging off to left or right side
2. don't use the 1" T fitting, just the reducer elbow & gate valve and face it downward coming out of the T-exhaust on the skimmer. if you don't want to have the end submerged, you can swing the gate valve up at an angle to the left until the exhaust of the gate valve is just above water level
3. substitute a 1" elbow for the 1" T so that when the water flow out of the gate valve, the elbow directs water downward without the T, but with a elbow.
How is it working for you? Much easier to get the foamhead to spill over into the collection cup, right?

I removed it late last night, it seems to produce better without it. I have to lower the outlet T to get dry foam without the valve so at this point it's really not needed. I'll give it another week to finish breaking in and see where it lines out before I decide to use the valve or not.

Well, I don't claim to know it all, not even close. But I am a kmaintl convert. Probably whatever I post, Ed will have told you already or going to tell you soon. If he tells you any different, please go with what he tells you as he is the master and I am the student. :lmao:
1) I was wondering if any of you guys have pics and instructions for setting up the gate valve kit as Ed sent me one in the package. I just dont want to PVC it wrong and ruin it.
Install it like this, this photo from another post from a RC member. Normally, the external gate valve kit doesn't come with a BM250, only for the BM200. You must have received a 3rd generation BM250 and Ed included it to make life easier to adjust for you.
