I just bought some sweet palythoas from a LFS that had a PFO solaris hood on their frag tank.

After getting said frags into my t5ho lit tank they basically look like crap compared to how they looked under the solaris.

I knew my bulbs were not great, but did not suspect them to be this bad! The spectrum is just off!

My fixture is two 2x39w retro things (haven't seen them around before) and has individual reflectors, allthough their quality is suspect. Right now I am running 2x genaric 10k (came with fixture) and 2x ATI blue+

My current thinking is to order one quality 10k bulb and one actinic, then run 2xblue+, 1x10k, and 1x actinic, but I don't really know whats what with t5 bulbs. This is on my frag tank, so decent par for growth is desirable, but the spectrum must be good for photos too.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Hard to say, Solaris = 6500k-20000k.

Try a mix of Aquablue/Blue+

I run 1x 10000k, 2x Actinic+, 1x Uvl Super Actinic

i would try one Giesemann pure actinic, one ATI blue plus, one UV Super Actinic, and one high quality 10-12k bulb
