my lfs was throwing out a few tanks and one of them was a small 2.5g acrylic tank, so i took it and a bag of sand and a 18 watt pc lighting fixture for 20 bucks, curious on wat people use for flow in these small tanks???and wat is a good small heater people use

you can use just a powerfilter for flow, and you can keep the carbon media in it, but if it comes with a sponge you want to take that out. not sure on the heater, as i have never had such a small tank so i will let someone else help you out on that one. keep us updated (with pics!! ).

Great deal. Use carbon, and rock rubble if you can. Get an Aqua Clear 50 for that tank and setup the filtration part mechanical and biological, and you can add the heater in there.

You want about 4 watts per gallon, so look for a heater around 10 watts.

I use an aquaclear filter and have my heater in it, with some foam and rubble...just have to cut a piece out of the top so it fits with a lid on the filter....I have an AGA 2.5g...my heater is a 25w, the filter is a 50.....and my little tank does well with its Pom Pom Crab and Trimma goby (less than 3/4" fish)

i use an ac20 and a 50w heater. just find the smallest 25 or 50w heater and use that one, hopefully it will fit in the HOB filter.

My hood has built in filter, so for extra flow to specific area I use visaqua 50 pumps. They are 1 in square and tuck in behind rocks very easily. Tubing to fit the nozzel is easily found at hardware store and bent to direct flow with a heat gun. Very small, extra directional flow.

Good luck and drop some pics
