Anyone have any experience with the Stealth or Thermoflow fans? I am leaning toward the Thermoflow since it is regulated by temperature but I am leary that it may be loud. Thanks for any input.

Stealths are great fans -- very quiet. I use a variable voltage adapter with mine and run them at 9V, which makes them essentially silent.

I also use the Stealth on a variable voltage DC adapter. Very quiet.

where did you get the variable voltage adapter?

One of these will run 3 or 4 Vantec fans. I usually run 2, 4" fans per adapter myself.

Run 2 off a 12V adapter and they are almost silent (the 2 powerheads in the tank are louder). You can only hear them if you are right up at the tank on the side.

I use fans from Radio Shack, very quiet and inexpensive

I bought two 120mm Vantec Stealth fans and two steel mesh grills to mount in my hood. I have the fans ran in parallel to a variable ac/dc converter I got at walmart for $5. The fans are great and silent. With all of my lights and pumps off, I still can't hear the fans. They keep my 30 cube w/150 watt HQI cool enough I have to run a heater to keep my tank at 80 degrees.

The Stealths are cheaper at newegg.com and shipping looks to be much cheaper.

AZDesertRat, you are correct. The main reason I purchased the fans at coolerguys.com is because I wanted to get fan grills to hide the fans also. Either way, Stealth's are my recommendation.

Frys has some nice grilles too. I just bought the cheap metal ones but I am looking at the nice wooden ones at Rockler Woodworking!
