Those of you in SPS land, what do you think keeps your water so clean? Water changes (some do not), Effecient mechanical filtration(some do not), or Efficient skimming?
I cant manage to get my nitrites down:mad2:

Skimming/other export + water changes + balanced stocking + balanced import/export.

IMO, the most key thing is not adding more nutrients than you're pulling out .... which avoiding overstocking can sure help, as can export/skimming.

That said, feeding as much as you can while avoiding adding more than you can remove IMO is the ticket.

If you haven't seen this thread, it's a good one
Let's talk about water quality in an SPS tank. (http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=387360)

I sure hope you dont have NitRITE...and you meant NitRATE. If you have NITRITE, you have ammonia which is bad news.
