How reef safe do you feel an Emperor Angel would be in an SPS tank with two gorgonians and the remainder SPS? I know this is a difficult question but I would love to get one and value your opinion.

I'm not Live Aquaria, but emperor angels are suppose to be reef safe as far as SPS goes, and maybe a little caution with LPS and clam mantles, but it isn't certain they will nip on them.

I read a good way to prevent this is to get a small one. Keep it fed often, maybe twice a day feed the tank, which is about average anyway. If you keep him fat he won't go looking for the corals most likely :D

Snorvich.

Thank you for your post. We understand your desire to add an Emperor Angelfish to your aquarium. We recommend proceeding with caution given the contents of your tank. The Emperor is known to nip at stony and soft corals (sessile invertebrates) and clam mantles, but possibly could be kept with small-polyped stony corals and somewhat noxious soft corals.
