I run my RO/DI unit with two DI's & two carbon blocks. Supposedly the water in my area does not have chloramines. But what if they decided to change? Would I be protected? Do carbon blocks remove chloramines? Do chloramines show on a TDS meter?

Chloramine is chlorine bonded to ammonia. Carbon knocks out the chlorine and maybe a little ammonia, but a DI is needed to catch all the ammonia.

You won't see the effect of chloramines in tap water with a TDS meter.

You can measure ammonia in your product water if you're not getting it all out.

Thanks so much for your response Scott. I was told to check for chloramines you add chlorine remover..then check for ammonia, true?

I don't know for sure, but that sounds logical.
