I just bought a 20g bottle of "super glue professional strength" for only 5.97 at HD. Its a pretty decent sized bottle. It was actually the biggest bottle they had. Comes in a blue and white package.

If you have a hobby store in your area you might want to check them out.. Somewhere that sells model airplanes and such.. They normally have 4-5 different viscosity's. From thinner than water to gel like.. I bough tsome locally here for $8.99 for like 4 oz.... It's a huge bottle...

I like the super glue gel from home depot. $1.77 gets you two tubes. I kinda don't like the big bottles since they tend to get cloged and a lot ends up going to waste. With the smaller ones I get a new tip and tube after a couple uses.

Is it just called super glue gel, because when I go in there, I know there are going to be 50 different kinds of "super glue."

Yes, there is a specific kind called super glue gel and also "krazy glue gel" all of them will say gel on the box.

loc tite super glue works great except it doesn't stick mushrooms to well to frag disks. It stuck a couple toadstool frags I had very well. It's a thick gel in a decent dispenser.

Look for a brand that has the ingredient cyanoacrylate. That's the active ingredient in most "super glues". Duro makes a good brand, and Loctite is very good as well. Also, make sure you get the gel superglue. You'll have a difficult time with the non gel gluing outside the tank, and I don't think it's possible to glue anything underwater with it.

THe IC gel out here is about $5.99 a tube as well depending on where you get it...

Look on your hardware store for any cyanoacrylate glue.

I get 3 tubes versus the 2 tubes you get from HD for $1.00 at my local Dollar General. Same exact packaging I think.

My brand of choice is any cyanoacrylate type super glue GEL that the DOLLAR store sells. usually the 3 pack of 2 gram tubes for a dollar. always use the gel. it holds and sets better. Also remember , as cyanoacrylate cures, it produces heat which can harm the live coral skin. so what i do is towel dry a chunk of rubble rock, put a big glob of gel on it, then take the hard coral frag and push it into the glob with one or two small twists, then hold and blow dry a moment till the frag stands by itself. then gently set in a bowl of tank water for 5 minutes to further cure, and keep the glue cool. then into a quiet spot in the tank to finish curing. do not work the glue or move the frag after that. it will just break loose. so a quick twist to cover the coral base with glue and hold still. simple as that.

Are all these super glues safe to put in your tank? Also can you apply most of these to the frag out of water and then just attach it under water to the live rock? Thanks.
yea i wanted to know is it really safe to use these glues you get from the dollar store in your reef tank??

the gluesmith.com. I buy it 16oz. at a time. It keeps well in the fridgerator. I have a bottle that has been in their since last summer and it is still good;)The problem with buying those cheap little tubes is the cap. If its not put on right you might as well throw the rest away.
