Hey there.
I didn't buy my tank yet because of some financial issue and because I'm unable to decide what I really need. I don't know if I should go with 50 or 70 gallon tank and so I come to you for help.

There are easy ways to compare gallons to liters and liters to square meters on the web but nothing can really give that feel of how a 50 gallon tank will really look because a tank is not an equal bar or something.
So, I'd like to ask anybody of you to take a picture of yourself in front of your 50 or 70 gallons tank. The more pics the better but I basically just need one or two. (Having one of 50 and one of 70 would even be better).
I searched the Internet and either I was doing something wrong or I don't know, but I could find no picture of a tank with a person next to it.

Thanks in advance!

I have always regretted not geting a 75g instead of a 55 the 18" front to back would be cool. I plan to upgrade as money allows.

A larger tank is less likely to crash and can fit much more stock with up cost being less then upgrading later.

See, my concern is electricity consumption. I'm ready to buy anything if it's a one time investment but a big tank would require more electricity for heating/chilling/lighting/etc so I want to see what a 50 gallon looks like to see if it's big enough for me.

demonsp - Thanks for the link but I guess I didn't find any relevant picture there.

I totally agree with Steve. The 55 is only 12" front to back. Not near enough room for aqua-scaping. With the 75, you've got a lot more room and a lot more surface area for oxygen exchange.

i had the same problem , i ended up going with the 58 gallon. although i am very happy with it. i often wish i had gotten the 75 gallon. i really cant see a huge money difference between the two and i feel that most ppl want a bigger tank even if they have a 200 gallon.

This site gives the measurements (in inches, unfortunately) of various standard size tanks: http://www.alysta.com/books/fishtank.htm Hopefully it will give you an idea, after conversion, on how big a tank would be.

It's simple, 3 or 4 feets long?

3 feets go with a 65G

4 feets go with a 75G or 90G

Hehe, well I guess I'll go with a 70g tank as everyone here says that it's the best choice if one is to choose 50 or 70.

Thanks for the advice!
