I have a fluffy dandelion-esque something that is popping up in my tank ( light indifferent, medium flow area of my tank ). I have been through the macroalgae forum and am not finding anything like Fluffy. It seems ( to my eye anyway ) a bit too stalky to be sponge. It doesn't close up or react to being poked at. It's soft, easily pulled off the rock with turkey baster suction, white with a very fine puffy head and is growing a bit more quickly than I like for a "mystery" inhabitant. It's not popping up in my corals. Yet. And I'd like to keep it that way.
This is the best angle I can capture - anything head on just looks like a furry white dot. Which it rather is. A white fluffy dot on a stalk.
The blenny manages to get into every photo I take of the tank...but he does provide a good idea of scale so I didn't crop him out.
Meh, I don't know that the shot is helpful in any manner but thought I would give it a shot. (Why are the mystery things so hard to photograph grrr!)
