hi im new to metal hidelight (sorry for spelling) well i want to upgrade my 60gal tank and i want to get some new lights.

right now i have zoo's, frogspawn, hammer and mushrooms.
i have a jbj 96w blue 96w white and im thinking of getting a 150w 36" sunpod. http://www.petmountain.com/product/light-fixtures/504061/current-usa-sunpod-hqi-lighting.html

i was wondering if this is worth it or should i get the separate ones. not the sunpod like my jbj. i kinda like this sunpod so that its just one unit and it has a clean look.

do you think this is worth the price? i want to get mh so that everything would have a nicer color.

question:

1. how do i acclimate my corals?

2. would 2 150w create a lot of heat? would my chiller be enough to accomodate for it?

3. would i need to get an auto top off system too?

4. what other mh would you recommend? (pix or website pls)

thanks in advanced.

60 gal aga. i think it's gonna be like my 60 acrylic.

48" x 15" width x 18" high.

any recommendations on the lowest mh i can put on this? would 1 150w do?

thanks

Current makes 48" T5/ MH 150w HQI combo light that is 15" wide which would fit mounted on the legs over your aquarium. I would have went with it, but since I have a 55g (13") wide I use the Sunpod ( 9") 150w MH HQI fixture only with 14k lamps, on a 7hr photoperiod. SPS have good color and grow nicely. SInce your tank is only 18" tall the 150w HQI should be plenty, especially supplemented with the T5.

Yeah I know, but is a great plug and play fixture, sleek design, internal electronic ballasts and 2 cooling fans, also comes with 9 or 18 lunar LED's both white and blue and no I don't work for the company. I'm satisfied with their product which I purchased back in Nov 06 when I switched over to a dominante SPS/LPS/ Clam system.

aquatinics tx5 under 500 shipped keep all the higher light coralls you want and less heat than your pc you might not even need the chiller anymore.
