It's a supermale Halichoeres melanurus. Great wrasse and a great reef aquarium fish! Non-reefers viewing my reef aquarium always noticed his colors and striking patterns. I had mine for about 5 or 6 years but lost him to a disease epidemic that wiped out all my fish last summer. Enjoy this beauty. They don't seem to be available that often even though they're fairly common in the wild.

When I saw him at the LFS I had to have him and was expecting to pay like 80 bucks but then I saw the price and it was only $30. Good deal in my book.

It's 85 degrees here and I have 500 watts of MH over my 60 so I turned them off till it gets cool (nighttime) to feed. I'll see if he want to come out of the sand to eat then I'll try to snap a pic of him.
