im have a 16"x16"x14" cube tank that is being used for clams only.i would like a few fish in the tank but not real sure what to go with.it has a crushed coral substrate if that matters.i might add in one acro just for fun.so throw me some ideas for cool fish for this tank.

don't know excatly what you mean by cool fish, but for the size of tank, probably just small fish. clowns, small blennies, gobies, pseudochromis or some damsels.

cool as in wont bother the clams but color is always nice.i would just like to have something swimming in the tank.also i do have a larger tank so if the fish outgrows the cube he could go int my 90g.

For a clam tank I would look for a wrasse to knock off natural clam predators.

xmas is good for that particular purpose.
As far as color and beauty try one of this-hooded fairy or lineatus(my two fav wrasses of all time)

Also make sure you have a hood of some sorts to prevent those beauties from jumping out.

I am fond of Mystery wrasses, if it is to be the only fish. My model mystery became a terror and chased my Pacific Candy Hog causing it to carpet surf when I was away on vacation. Man was I P.O.'d

I think the fairy wrasses in the pictures above would be much too large and active for the size cube youre talking about. If you want to go the wrasse route, Id suggest sticking with the Pseudocheilinus wrasses: 6-line, 4-line, cryptic, mystery, etc.

Otherwise, I really like firefish and assessor gobies. Some of the smaller Pseudochromis would work well- Ive got an hybrid Indigo Pseudo, and he is awesome. I had coral/citron gobies that used to perch on my clams, which didnt seem to bother them at all.
