Move to NTTH for more views.

Lots of people have used the various red slime removers, including me. I avoid them now, as they can crash tanks and usually have only a temporary effect. If you choose to use one, I'd suggest siphoning out as much of the slime as possible just before treating, and having water on hand for changes.

I agree with Bertoni on that. I use them very occasionally. Chemiclean is the only one that I've ever used and it seems to be a good and effective product. But, leaving the skimmer on while it's being used to treat the tank isn't a good idea. The skimmer will start removing it from the water column immediately and its effectiveness will be compromised. The same with carbon.

Also, the skimmer will appear to have gone wild with massive amounts of wet, watery foam being produced by the skimmer which you will have to be attentive to or you'd have a flood.
