I purchased a Copperband Butterfly to my new nano, she is a beauty, but as soon as i placed her in tank, she started nipping on my worm rocks and trying to catch small feather dusters, is this ok? i love my feathers and want to keep them, what do u think? will she really eat them? they hide quickly but iam still worried about them, what do you guys think?

That is one of their choice items to eat in the wild.... if you want to keep your feather dusters then the copperband is going to have to go. My butterfly has eaten all of my dusters (thank god i did not buy them, naturally occuring) out of my 65 gallon. BTW how big is your nano?

The feathers are toast. Unfortunately I think the Copperband is too.

They are tough fish to keep simply because they can be very difficult to get to eat prepared food. They are also very active fish that need room to swim, a lot more than 20 gals worth.

Note: these are my opinions only. Yes, I have had a Copperband and yes, I was unsucessfull in keeping it alive. They are difficult, but its your tank, do what you want.

They do their prowling at dusk and dawn. Even if it gets a couple, the dusters should recover in a couple weeks.
