I read the directions and is it true you dont have to "bake" the Alk part of the solution??
I just remember reading on Randys site that the baking soda has to be "baked".
Thanks

things just changed at the end of last week .

baking soda (sodium bicarbonate ) can be baked in the oven to release the carbon dioxide. This creates sodium carbonate.

His recipe originally suggested this because baking soda was so readily available. Two part solution is trying to take things one step further and make some of the harder items to find just as readily available .

We now offer soda ash which is sodium carbonate. This means there is no need to ever bake baking soda again if you don't want to . Baking baking soda is still a perfectly ok alternative but many of us are stick of it and would rather just use sodium carbonate rather than and create it out of sodium bicarbonate.

just to be clear , there is little to no difference between the new soda ash and baking your baking soda . only really difference is it removes the pain of baking the baking soda.

The stuff I received says it is 594g Sodium Bicarbonate.
Does this need to be "baked"?
