Tangs are considered ich magnets,

Neither UV or cleaner shrimp are considered effective against ich .. on the positive side neither is going to do any harm and might provide a nominal benefit.

If you tang is in the ST .. then the ST is now infected and all fish within the ST have been exposed to ich.

If you leave your fish within the ST then they will either die of ich or will develop some level of immunity to ich. If they develop full immunity .. no problem. Some may develop no immunity or partial immunity .. how much immunity (if any) will determine how many casualties you may incur.

If you want an ich free tank ... then QT all the fish and treat with hyposalinity .. lots of posts on that subject. Keep the tank without fish for 5-6 weeks and the ich within the ST will naturally die off. If you QT all future tank additions your tank should remain ich free.

Hope this helps.

If you think you have amylo then QT combined with copper treatment would be the recommended procedure. Cupramine copper is less harsh than other coppers and would be the preferred copper to use with a tang.

Heres a link on amylo
