hi there,

can someone assist in putting a name on the mushrooms that i picked up at the LFS about a week ago ?

i just picked them from their "assorted corals" tank.

this branch had one small one, and two bigger ones. not sure if they are of the same kind or not.

any help on identifying them appreciated!

Hairys are a type of Rhodactis ... i forget the rest of the name. Not inchoata but something else =\ Hairy is so much easier but hope this helps!

how or what would you feed them ?

i tried to put some frozen brine, cyclop-eez or a formula one pellet on them, but if the current doesn't blow it off, some of the nassarius snails that crawled out of the sand will get to it.

i've seen one of them poop, so it must have eaten something at one time :)

turn off the flow when feeding if you can... i use a long pair of stainless steel tweasers to remove crabs/snails that try to steal the food

the "poop" was probably the shroom releasing xooxanthellae... they do that when they get stressed. As long as it doesn't happen often it should be fine.

like the post above me said turn off the flo.. cyclopeeze, or frozen {thawed} shrinp pealed..like what you would feed a small snowflake eel..

Nice! If you didn't feed them before, they're going to split like crazy for awhile. At least that's what happened with mine.
