Skimming - Wet or Dry

What are people's thoughts on Skimming Wet or Dry?

My couple of questions are if you skim wet, are you taking out more beneficial elements quicker, such as Calcium, Salt, PH. Trace, etc.?

If you skim dry, are more harmful elements hanging around in tank longer than they should?

Or is this just personal preference.

I think your comments/observations are correct.

Wet skimming will remove more salt water but it isn't all that much. Other than a small amt of water loss and more frequent collection cup cleaning I don't think there is any downside to wet skimming .. that of course assumes you have excess nutrients in your tank like most of us.
