What are the differences in function and price? Availability?

The 6200 won't get a name change, it will still be called 6200 but the driver will be gone and replaced by a small junction block and the transformer will be replaced by a laptop DC powersupply, the pump will look and run the same way as before.

If the pump will run the same as before, what is the reason for the change? I just placed an order for (2) 6200's. I can cancel, and place an order for the new 6200's if the old ones are causing problems. Please advise

The new pumps will be lighter to ship (no big copper coil transformer), fewer parts so they are faster to make and no driver box which is something customers have requested. There is no real other advantage. It is mainly a design change being made so we can increase production and availability we will still have parts for the old pumps for several years.

rvitko,

Thanks for the explanation. I ordered my 6200's through Aquarium Concepts in Dublin, CA back on June 1st.

Would you please look up for me when you guys plan to ship the 6200's to them?

Also, will you be shipping the new or old 6200's?

Thanks

Likely you will get the new one, the new one will replace the old one in the next few weeks.

mmm to hear you talk about the new pumps gets me all giddy.

Im waiting patiently with my name on the list from a retailer. I hope it comes soon!

btw, out of curiousity, I know the pump stock is a little funky right now, but what about the controllers? Id hate to have the 6101's come in, and get mine, but cant easily pick up a controller to go with it. are the controllers up to date on backorders?

Wow, so the wait is a few weeks right now? That's a long time!

I've already bought a 7095 controller. Will the new 6200's be compatible?

Yes. The controller is unchanged. We have them in stock.

I have to correct the info here. The new one will actually be called 6201.

I don't think we will get anymore 6200, so it will likely be 6201.
