GARF Grunge on sandbed in tank?

Question regarding Garf Grunge.....

I have a 12 gallon DX Nanocube. I just ordered a janitor pack from GARF & they sent GARF grunge with the order. My question, & I think I already know the answer but want to check just in case, is: If I put the grunge in the built-in sump (I keep live sand & live rock back there only), will the critters & the corralline algae still make it to the main part of the tank, or do I need to put the grunge on top of my live sand bed in the main tank to get the benefit of it? I just like to keep my sandbed looking white & clean....

It doesn't matter where you put it, it will all make it into the system unless you are still using the foam or using some kind of micron filter. Even then, they still seem to find a way to get through. So I would say you are good anywhere you put it.
