Just interested in finding out what you advanced SPS keepers do to keep or gain colors of your corals.
ie. Lighting, ca reactor or Kalk reactor?, What is your flow rate? and how big is your tank?
And any other tidbits or advice whould help too.
Reason im asking is becasue I have noticed some of my sps gowing fine but loosing color.

Thanks

Man, would be a long answer

But, keep your eyes in :

Stability ( pH, ra, ca , mg , temperature, salinity )
Water quality ( po4 and no3 = 0 )
Good Lighting
Good Circulation

There is no secret

I thought it might be a long one.
But thanks Denadai. I should know this but what is ra?
And does tempurature play a big role in sps keeping. I know afew people out here rush off to get a chiller when thier tank get to 80.
What would be the ideal temp?

Mine ranges from 78.5 to 82 and corals are all fine. They like it better at 80 than 82 though.

My tank has that temp swing too. But A friend of mine keeps his tanks at 78 all the time. Do corals like a lower temp?

Just pulled my chiller off: with chiller-77, without chiller-80-83. Corals look the same.

For me, the more fish I add the better the color gets. Currently I have about 20 fish in a 90.

I think finding a routine or method and sticking to it is best. Like denadai said there is no big secret, some use prodibio some zeo and some add nothing and hardly change any water and have an awesome looking tank. Its amazing how many different ways work.
Just maintain it well and get good flow and lighting on it and buy nice colonies and it'll come around eventually. I want better colors all the time and I'm slowly getting there but it can take a couple years for a tank to really stabilize and mature to the point where it thrives, and I believe stability is where the secret lies.
