Okay.....is it possible to have green hair algae in a tank just starting out(about two weeks old) where I used my same live rock from previous tank(55 gal) and added it to the new tank(75gal). I kept the rock in a tub under water from old tank with heater and powerheads for about a week till I got the 75 up. The 75 has a new sand bed and filled with RO/DI at 0.0 TDS. I tested the water tonite with 2 seperate nitrate test kits and they both show very little trates. My 20 gal sump has a fuge with cheto in it for about a week....this crap is getting longer by the day....

It is possible since it happened to you. lol.
Ok, yes, it can happen and it is just a part of the cycle of the tank. Enjoy the green since it won't last too long if the tank cycles as it should.
Good luck with the bigger tank!

Are you using different lights? Since you have some nitrates there is a cycle going on, so expect some algae. Hand harvest what you can and up your clean up crew. All will be well in time.
