how can i set up my Reverse Osmosis filter so that it filters my aquarium water and returns it back to the aquarium? I have no idea how to use the RO filter for my aquarium. are there any diagrams that show how its done? Please advise! thanks for your help!

The RO systems are not an aquarium filter. It filters your tap water to use for top off water and to make your saltwater.

So there is absolutely no way i can send the water from my aquarium through the RO filter, and then back into the aquarium?

No, it would remove the salt.

Why would you do that?

im only asking because i want to do this for my freshwater tank. Im trying to lower the gH and kH, and pH.

Just do a water change with RO water.

you will lose water, and you would need a pump to pressurize it. It is possible, but doesnt seem like there is a need for it.....

Why do you want to lower ph,gh and kh, a low kh may crash the ph and will harm the fish.....

yeah, to lower kh/gh in FW just do a large water change.

You use the RO water, not DI media for FW, then use something like RO right. it should give you a median GH and a neutral pH. But unless your trying to breed, I don't see a reason.

Hooking the ro unit to your tank to become a filter would just be expensive and unnecessary... even then you gain very little as the ro waste would have to be discarded or added back to the tank;)

you could mix half tap and half RO water...
