Hi all
I would love to get a small wet vacuum to clean my sand, and also to suck dentritus out of my sump. Do they exist? Of cource I have seen (and used) siphon based vacuums, but they never really work as well as I would like, and since my sump is on the floor, it's pretty tricky to get a siphon going. Is there such a thing as a small wet vacuum that can be used in the aquarium? i though about trying to make one using a small powerhead, but didn't have much luck. thanks all, a link would be awsome.

Here you go...Two sizes. One is small, which might be the thing you're looking for...

Id think it would suck up as much sand as anything else... no?

Don't know never used one, but its the only thing I could think of based on george1098's description of need.

george1098, for $13.99, it might be worth trying it out and reporting back.

Those battery powered ones are useless. Why don't you just get one of the normal gravel vacuum and run the hose down to the sump? Do that to clean my BB tank.

you mean a normal siphon hose? I am actually more interested in getting a power vacuum to clean my sump than my display. can't do a siphon from the sump because it's on the floor and the water level is only about 10"-14". I think i may try to make one out of a little powerhead.
