Can I replace the bubble diffuser box on my CSS with a filter sock? If so, does anyone know what size I would need? The hose looks pretty large:eek1:

Everything I've read indicates that the the boxes are useless. I am planning on taking mine off of the CSS 65 I just picked up.

The boxes are fine if you are running them HOT. But using the black sponge with the hole in it is worthless. But a AC sponge and carve an indentation out for the discharge hose and that should cut down on your microbubbles.

You could also take out all sponges and fill a few small media bags w/ carbon and/or Phosban and use that in its place. Thats how I run mine w/ no microbubbles.
