Are two 400 watt 14k metal halides to much lighting for a 90 gallon tank? I also want to put two VHO actinic on this same tank. Are the coral and fish going to need suntan lotion and sunglasses? Thank you!

What is the dimension of your tank? What kind of coral do you intend to put in it?

Lets see it is 48" wide, 18" deep and 24" high.

Probably 250 watt X 2 with the VHO's is plenty of light. Why run the extra 300 watts with the added heat and electrical costs if you don't need it? Not an expert but 250 watts x 2 with the supplemental VHO lighting is generally considered more than adequate for keeping anything in a standard 90 gallon.
