Does anyone have a "best practice" for removing tuffs of hair algea clumping onto my substrate.

It looks real bad and syphoning just removes more gravel than algea.

p.s. my phospates are 0, I have a refugium growing cheto, and my protien skimmer is doing the trick.

Is it a new set up?Do you have corals?.......If its new and there is no corals in it right now just turn off all lights(MH,actinics, moon, etc.) for about 5-7 days...Im in the process of doing that right now and my hair is going away....but my set up is new with no corals.........also I have a small clean up crew of a few snails and lawnmower blenny........
