So the tank I aquired (and have had set up for about a month) started leaking quite heavily. It was an old tank that my dad gave me to use, on a really old weathered stand, and i guess it just gave out. It was leaking in many places. Luckily, I was just about to work on a 20 gallon sump project, so I had my 20 gallon tank to house my 1 tomato clown, live rock, 3 hermit crabs, and 3 snails in.
I siphoned all of the water out and put it in buckets and jugs and stuff so i could keep the water that i finally had cycled. When i went to the fish store there was a great deal on a 75 gallon with the stand and lid and everything. Soooo, it looks like this little catastrophy lead to me getting a larger tank for not too much money. I was wondering if you guys think i did everything right by saving all the water and gravel and rock?
If I put everything in the new tank and wait for the clowding to go away to you think it would be safe to put my inhabatants in right away? Any tips for me in this situation?
I'm excited to be working with a bigger tank, i've always liked the depth of 75 gallons more.
