hi all, have a wavemaker that switches power between 2 pumps ( i think its the jbj). anyway the pumps are rio 2500's and they make a horrible sound (rattling) when they start up. ive had to use the longest time possible so its not making th esound every second. ive cleaned out the pumps and still its there.any ideas on how to stop the noise?

Does the noise go away once they run for a while?

Do the impeller shafts have any damage?

On MaxiJets some people glue the impeller to the magnet so it does not swivel back and forth, that seems to be what causes the noise.

What I've heard the MJ are prob the best at not doing the rattling. It's due to when power is first applied the impeller has to catch up to the speed of the magnetic force that makes them turn.
