Ok so I got my 190 gal RR setup all ready to go... the only problem i'm having now is that my return pump is a bit too strong, it pushes up a bit more water than my overflow can handle... and tried adding a durson pipe to it to silence the water but when I do it's not capable of handling that much water so it slowly fills up...

btw I have a pan world 200... roughly around 1700 gph at 0 head.. with 2 1/2" return and 1" drain.. What can I do to balance this out? please I appreciate all the help as this is my last step to get my tank going... thanks

Put a gate valve on the pump and throttle it down so you dont overpower your overflows drain.

I thought of that but wouldn't that shorten the life span of the pump? any other way?

You should be able to reduce the output of any pump, its the input you dont want to restrict. A gate valve on the output of your pump will allow you to do what you want to do. Other than that, get a dual overflow or a smaller pump.
