Just got a 48" T5 Aquatinic fixture ....love it !!
However, when I lift it of the 48" tank to feed/work/ etc....I get a low level shock. When my hands are wet ... it doesn't feel very pleasant.
Do I need repairs ?? Anything I can do/check ??
Any help is appreciated.

Packdog,
Do you have any in sump or tank powerhead/pumps? If so, please unplug all pumps and powerheads that are in the tank. They might be feeding back through the ground line to the fixture. If there is still a problem please give us a call at 203-234-9286 for repairs.
Thank you,
Tom

It is probably the heater, if the powerheads don't work unplug the heater. May I ask which heater are you running?

I haven't had any trouble with getting shocked lately, but must admit that I haven't done anything about it either.:o
I need to check if having it plugged in differently might help, as I have the three prong plug adapted down to a two prong so that it fits my two prong timer. In other words, the ground is not being used...
Any electrical advice ??

That probably is the issue.
Generally if an appliance has a 3 prong, it needs the 3rd prong. There are 3 prong timers (digital) available at Lowes and HD for outdoor use, that I use. They work great.
