I am sorry to start a new thread but I couldnt get an answer from anyone on my old 1. I was told by Aquactinics poster that 1 72" Constellation would light my tank and be able to support SPS and clams. My question is, I'm not sure he was aware that the tank is 36inches wide and 25 inch tall. I just want to be sure when I make my final decision on lighting that I have the right amount of light to cover my entire tank. Can you tell me what the lighting spread is for the 72" Constellation, and what kind of output i will have at 25" depth? I'm wanting T-5's so I dont have to worry about heating issues and run a chiller. SO if I do need 2 lighting units, the pricing wont be much different then adding a chiller if I did MH's. SO dont let price be an issue when you try to promote this product to me.
Thanks

Ironfan,
Here's part of a post I did in a earlier thread.
"The Constellation series of fixtures (14" wide ) works well resting on tanks up to 24" wide. For tanks 24" - 30" side you can use the riser brackets. For tanks wider then 30" we recommend at least the riser brackets or our hanging kit with the fixture about 3-4" off the tank."
The spread on these fixtures is very well. The 72" Constellation will support clams and SPS anywhere in a 25" tall tank when the fixture is resting on the tank. That being said if you were to use 1 fixture raised a few inches off the tank I would recommend keeping the high light SPS higher up in the tank. If you want a SPS & clam front to back top to bottom dominated 36" wide 25" deep tank then I would say going with 2 72" Constellations would work out very well. You would be limitless in the amount and type of corals you could keep ( at least in terms of lighting ).
It really is up to you in what you want to keep. I hope this helps in your decision making. If you have any other questions please feel free to ask.
Thank you,
Tom
