Is there a decent reef aquarium shop in the Tokyo area?
Thanks in advance!

With the 7 million + people living there, I would certainly hope so!
No, seriosuly, I know there is, but I can't help you beyond that.

Well, my Japanese speaking skills are bad, and my reading skills are worse. That limits me to those shops I happen upon -- thus the post!
You'd be surprised. They are all of them exclusively fresh water planted tank shops.
Every place Ive seen a tank here as well has been a fresh water planted tank. 100% of them (excepting the giant museum aquariums).

Did a search. Haven't been to the shop but looks promising.

Map to get there (unfortunately in Japanese):

Looks like the closest subway station is the Hon-Komagome station on the Namboku subway line (the small rectangular box on the upper right side of the map).
And a Tokyo subway map in English:

Hope that helps.

Found another one.
Located in central Tokyo so it might be easier to get to.

Map to get there (again in Japanese):

Looks like the closest train station is the Ootsuka station off of the JR Yamanote line (north exit) - located at the far left of the map. Store is the black dot in the bottom center of the map
And a JR East Tokyo train map in English:

Interesting to see how many American products they carry :)
