tank mates for maroon clown

My son has a 55g with 4 yellow and black chromis and a gold bar maroon clown...can anyone recommend tankmates? Can I have bangaii cardinals, a wrasse, or anything else?

Yes I would add a Bangaii cardinal in there.

I'd go with a wrasse. My experiences with Bangii's is that they're pretty peaceful and wouldn't adapt well to being picked on by the damsels. The wrasse will defend itself better.

my vote is fairy wrasse... peaceful, but can hold their own.. I have 3 in my 260 with a mated pair of GSM's

What else could I put in there? I would love any input!!!!! Other than a purple tang is there any other species of tang?

I like blue/green chromis. Three or four would look good in your tank. I'm in the same boat as you, a tank full of semi-agressive fish so anything I put in there has to be able to hold it's own.

Here's my stocking list, not including inverts and corals.
Maroon clown
4 chromis
watchman goby
six line wrasse
some sort of white/yellow/blue damsel

They all get along perfect
