I just discovered some Neomeris annulata growing on my LR. For those who dont know what it is heres a link to Melev's site http://www.melevsreef.com/id/annulata.html.
Its only a couple stalks but its really kinda pretty so I'de like to keep it growing if I can but according to Marc it has a tendeny to die rather quickly.
Any tips or tricks to keeps this stuffing growing good??

If it's calcium-based and green, I'd say it wants light and calcium. Take a snapshot of your current params, and maintain those---I'd say it must like what it's got, and I'd include your skimming level, your light spectrum, your salinity, and your trace elements, which are the sneakiest thing that could deplete: keep up with your water changes, to replenish those, and that's about what I know.

It grew well in my old tank. High nutrients and proper ca/alk/mg levels. Halimeda grew like crazy too.

How high were your nutrients? My trates hover around 7-5 ppm and my phoshates are 0. My calcium is around 350 last time I checked(about a month ago)and my Alk and Mag is anybodies guess because I dont test for those.

Xenia and shrooms were sreading like crazy, so I'd guess pretty high ;)

It seems like this is an enigma. Thanks for the replys. I guess I'll just keep on doing what I'm doing and hope for the best.

If you grow it in abundance, let us know your secret. ;)

What was Ryans secret? He gave you a very nice photo of it so he might know something we dont.

It's been a while but if I recall correctly he had high magnesium and dosed B-Ionic on that tank. I'll have to see if I can get him to reveal his secret. :)

Btw, I have one twig of that in my 280g reef right now. I don't know where it came from, but it's cute.

I have some, but it has only formed single stalks in a couple areas. I wish it would form a patch...

Do you know how long they lasted in his tank? Like I said I have a couple stalks myself and they are very cool but I really wanna know how to keep them alive.
