Ok, after 50 or so venturi's for my skimmer to boost performance and air injection, I ran accross this name a few times. From my research this venturi and the ball valve venturi seem to be the best. Does anyone have any knowledge of the two and what kind of lpm these guys pull. The mazzie is quite expensive so before i buy one, i'd like to know that it works awesome and can't be duplicated. Pics are worth a thousand words as well. And any other DIY venturi's that are awesome would be nice to hear as well.
Thanks,

Luke

what are you trying to do?

Are you running a big pressure pump? Are you trying to use it as an aspirator for a NW pump?

It would be for my NW meshmod pump, a 1300gph pump on a 10.5" diameter that's got a 13" reaction chamber. With a 4" diameter neck that's around 5" high. I'm currently pulling 35 scfl's but i think this skimmer could handle around 50scfl's and i'd like to get there.

Whats the pump?

A mazzei wont work as an aspirator for a needlewheel...the design is all wrong.

I've found that with meshwheels, the more open the venturi is, the better. You want them to pull as high of an air:water ratio as possible, but you also want them to pull as much water as possible.

IE, pulling 2:1 air:water isnt any good if you're only pulling 1/5th the water.

What size airline are you running?

1/4" airline. My venturi now is basically a 3/4" fitting with a 1" PVC addapter. I have the 1/4" air fitting right were the threads end. Its pulling 35scfl's which is decent but I do believe the pump can do alot more. Its a odyssea wp1000, which is 1300gph. I know, its an odyssea, but it will pump much more water than the genx4100 i also have. The only thing i don't like is its got a 3/4" inlet instead of a 1" but for the price you can't complain. The volute is also larger on this pump than the 4100.

Would the ball valve work better, or should i just leave it alone. I just figure if people have made the 4100 pull 20-25lpm, then this guy can atleast atain 25lpm.

what size is the output plumbing? Pics of the mesh'd impellar? Venturi?

Its 3/4" in and out, i don't have a pic of the venturi, could take it tonight, but its basically a 3/4" fitting, male thread, that goes to a 1" pvc and the hose adapter for air is right at the end of the thread. Its a very simple venturi, all the others i made were's pulling as much air. here's the meshmod, three layers

Here's the skimmer body at 35 scfl's
