Well I was doing so tank maintenance tonight and turn my back while the lid was off for 10 minutes...When I was finished I was looking for everyone and did not see the Labout's. I figured he was hiding in the rock work. I thought I would check behind the tank just in case and sure enought he was laying on the ground. He could not have been on the ground for at the most 10 minutes...I'm really bummed!!!:( He was a beautiful fish. I've had other fish jump and last who knows how long and survive as we speak. I just can't believe he died that fast. Lesson learned I will not leave the lid off for one minute next time.

sorry to hear that. IME, they only jump when they have reason. Was there a fish harrasing it?

He had been in the tank for about 3 months and was getting along with the other fish. Like I said earlier just can't believe he died that fast.

was the laboutis a younger wrasse?
i find it that the younger they are the quicker they die out of the tank
then again ive only had a couple but ive seen a trigger being brought back even though its body was dry
he was found behind the tank after someone asked about it

I appreciate everybodies comments. As for it being a younger wrasse not really sure. I had it about 3 months and it was about 3 1/2". After I found it I tried to revive it, by pushing it through the water to no avail. The cost was one thing, but I really do miss him swimming around the tank. I'm really going to have to rethink the purchases on the high end wrasses.
