Will a Mandarin become a meal for a CBS together in a 55 gallon?
Anyone have these 2 guys together now.....?

Mine did but it took the cbs about 6 months to get him.. My wife about killed me. They were in a 135 at the time.

I wouldn't risk it. I once had a scooter blenny(which is close to a mandarin) in with my coral banded shrimp. I came down one morning and saw the scooter blenny in the CBS's claws. I was devastated.

A good case in point for research. Kudos to Canfield for starting the discussion.

Bad combo, my CBS grabbed my new mandarin in 10 minutes. Good thing I was watching and could break it up and remove the mandarin.

I had no idea CBS would attack and kill a mandarin.

Wow...mandarin's must be really slow then because I've only seen CBS's lunge at other fish, but never actually catch one.

first post... ok i figured id say something because i have a mandarin with a cbs, and no real problems, to tell you the truth i have been through 2 cbs and neither of them have touched a thing, i have a cbs with 3 cleaner shrimp (2 added after the cbs) and absolutley no problems.

Some individuals are more agressive than others. What might work someone might not be the same with another. Not to mention, wild caught individuals tend to be more aggressive than captive bred ones.

Where do you get a captive bred CBS?
